The Plume Sauvage was drawn from the ornamental gardens of South and Southeast Asia — where peacocks move through botanical abundance without self-consciousness, and where the garden itself seems designed to make that movement possible.
We sketched the large-scale repeat first. The peacock in full display, the peony beside it, the way the tail feathers carry across a wide sleeve or a wide pant leg without losing their shape. Scale was everything — too small and the peacock disappears. Too large and it overwhelms. We worked until the repeat felt inevitable.
The border trim at the cuffs, hem, and pant leg came last. The wall again. The thing that tells the eye where the garden ends and makes the wildness inside it mean something.
