The Plumage Robe was drawn from the ornamental gardens of South and Southeast Asia — where birds move through botanical abundance as if the whole garden was arranged for their arrival, and perhaps it was.
We sketched the large-scale botanical repeat first. The way a climbing floral fills a robe's full length without losing its scale — present across the sleeve, the front panel, the hem. The bird arrived second. Not as decoration but as the reason the garden exists in the first place.
We made it in three grounds because the same garden looks entirely different depending on which hour you arrive. Plumage Sage is the garden in the cool of the morning. Plumage Ivory is the garden at noon when the light has bleached everything to its most vivid. Plumage Sand is the garden at the hour before sunset when the warmth settles into the ground and stays there.
